New York City real estate expert Steve Dawson loves what he does, and it shows. Known for always prioritizing relationships over transactions, his dedicated, hardworking and solutions-oriented approach has propelled him to close over $650 million in sales in his 10-year career. As the head of the Dawson | Varvara Team at Compass, Steve and his team bring this honest, client-focused attitude to their work with buyers, sellers, developers, and landlords across Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Steve first entered the real estate industry working in new development marketing where he learned how to distinguish properties in a crowded marketplace. He wields that same expertise when working with sellers to this day. For buyers, Steve is motivated by the thrill of the hunt, and he thoroughly enjoys guiding clients to their perfect city home by helping them drill down to what’s truly important.
Originally from Michigan, Steve has lived in New York City for more than 20 years. He earned a bachelor’s in communication studies from Pace University and a master’s degree in real estate development from New York University. In his free time, he enjoys reading the news, volunteering and spending time at his home on the coast of northern Maine.
Steve Dawson is a top-producing agent at Compass and previously at Sotheby’s International Realty’s Downtown Manhattan office for 2014, 2013 and 2012, and also ranked in the Wall Street Journal’s top 100 sales agents nationwide for 2015/2014/2013.
